SAN FERNANDO PLANT

Construction of our San Fernando Plant, in the O Higgins Region, initially designed to store the products that the company manufactures.

LONQUÉN PLANT

Inauguration of our Lonquén Plant, in the municipality of Maipú, Metropolitan Region, where our modern production plant and administrative buildings of the company are located.

ACQUISITION SITE IN MAIPÚ

Acquisition of a 15-hectare plot on Los Yacimientos street in Maipú to build a new plant.

MININCO PLANT

Construction of our Mininco Plant, in the Ninth Region, for the manufacture of SO2 and magnesium sulfate.

1985

PROTECCIÓN DE MADERA LTDA.

Formation of the company "Protección de Madera Ltda." after alliance with the company Hickson Timber Products. They currently operate in Chile under the Lonza-Quimetal brand.

CRISIS AND RECOVERY

The recession of the Chilean economy at the beginning of the decade of the 80s hit strongly the company, however, manages to overcome the crisis years.

1976

NEW PROPERTY

After the purchase of shares, businessman Ricardo Claro Valdés and the German chemist, Hans Hanke, took control of the company.

1964

EXPORTS

Thanks to the commercial opening of Chile and the incorporation of new products, the export business is opened to other countries. During that year the company exports up to 25 tons of copper oxychloride to Colombia.

1956

ACOIDAL

The company begins to produce Acoidal, an inorganic product formulated based on sulfur. Because there was no dryer, the sun was used in the summer months to dry these products on the roofs. Subsequently, in 1958 the first dryer was built.

1951

FOUNDATION

It all started in a small factory that produced copper sulphate in the district of San Miguel, in Santiago. In 1951, after several structural changes, Quimetal Industrial S.A. Officially started its activities in Chile.
